Loop Recorders
CASL Health offers implantable loop recorders for long-term heart monitoring to detect arrhythmias, fainting causes, and stroke risk.
Track Your Heart Anytime
Long-term monitoring for peace of mind
An implantable loop recorder (ILR) is a small device placed under your chest skin that continuously monitors your heart for up to three years. It helps your healthcare team detect irregular heartbeats that other devices might miss.
Why It’s Used
- Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)
- Unexplained fainting
- Stroke of unknown cause
The ILR provides important information to help diagnose and manage heart conditions.
What to Expect
- Procedure: Minor in-office surgery with local numbing; device placed under the skin
- Aftercare: Monitor your incision, avoid strenuous activity, and use the bedside transmitter to send data automatically
- Follow-Up: Checkups once or twice a year, with results shared by your CASL Health team
Safety
- Generally safe; minor risks include bleeding or infection
- MRI-safe—always inform your healthcare providers
- Carry your device ID card for security screenings
