Pacemaker Placement

A pacemaker is a small implanted device that helps regulate a slow or irregular heartbeat. The procedure is simple, recovery is manageable, and ongoing follow-up helps you return to life with confidence.

A Steady Rhythm for a Steady Life

Helping you feel better—beat by beat.

Helping Your Heart Stay in Rhythm
A pacemaker is a small device implanted under the skin that helps regulate a slow or irregular heartbeat by sending controlled electrical signals to the heart. It ensures your heart maintains a consistent rhythm throughout daily activities and rest.

What to Expect During Pacemaker Placement
Getting a pacemaker is a straightforward procedure that typically takes a couple of hours. You’ll receive medication to help you relax, and the area near your collarbone will be numbed. Dr. Cervera will make a small incision and carefully guide the pacemaker leads through a vein into your heart. Once the device is positioned, he’ll test it to ensure it’s functioning correctly before closing the incision.

You’ll be asked to avoid lifting heavy items or raising your arm on the side of the implant for a few weeks. Our team will give you detailed instructions and support during recovery.

Life After a Pacemaker
Pacemakers are built to last around 10 years and require regular check-ups to ensure everything is working properly. At CASL Health, we provide follow-up care and remote monitoring when possible, so you can get back to your routine with confidence and ease.
